I would like to ask of all of you to please pray for my Cousin Angelo who is being laid out today and tomorrow and being buried Saturday! A 23-year-old Army medic from Deltona was killed Oct. 2, 2006 while trying to rescue fellow soldiers wounded in an ambush in Afghanistan. Spc. Angelo Vaccaro and another U.S. soldier died near Korengal in eastern Afghanistan when their unit met resistance trying to recover casualties from an earlier firefight.

Decembers fast approaching and my VFW postin Copiague along with other groups including Onsight Support will be sending support items to the troops but like my post this program does not work unless people pull together and raise donations, Nick goes the whole 10 yards to gain a first down but he needs your support to run a touch down, so please tell everyone you know to help support our troops in the middle east, we want to make as many soldiers as possible to feel like they are home with the gifts we send, my post recently with nicks help sent two thousand pounds of support, we plan on breaking that record by the end of November and sending it out in December, it's not free to purchase and transport all the support items, it cost money so help us out. God Bless You All and God Bless AMERICA!

Dear Nicholas & Karen Kester Hello. My name is Bryan Williams and I am a Human Resource Technician for the 82nd Sustainment Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division. I have been receiving your wonderful packages and I want to say Thank You! The support your organization has provided me has been immeasurable. I shared your gifts with members of my unit and I can tell you that your kindness has had a profound impact on me and my soldiers. I want you to know that I deeply appreciate your efforts and commitment towards supporting troops. The packages you send are critical to me and my troops because most of the items you send are difficult to obtain here. I also want you to know that for some of my troops, your package might be the only mail they will receive while they are here. You absolutely have touched my heart and the hearts of many of America’s finest and probably some of the sons and daughters of people you know. You can rest assure that we are working hard, sweating in the heat and trying our best to ensure the Iraqis have a stable and free environment. Although our focus is on the Iraqis and our mission, we never stop thinking about back home and the family and friends who support us. You are some of those people and your organization should know that you have about 300 best friends out here. Lastly, I want to send everyone who volunteers and helps support your organization my sincere appreciation. Please know that you are serving your country by giving your time and enduring selfless sacrifice for the good of others. We shall keep you in our thoughts and prayers and if there is anything we can do for you, please let me know. Thank you, -Warrant Officer Williams

Comments: OnSight Support received this letter and would like to shair it with you all ! The Title : Open letter to our Troops Serving In Harms Way : The important duty you perform in Iraq and Afghanistan and how its outcome is important. Both of my parents are Cuban. My mother and her mother fled communist Cuba and have been ever grateful to live in this Great Nation. The values I was taught early in my life were not of material things but the things many people take for granted Freedom. I along with many 2nd generation Cuban Americans have been though the horrors of tyranny. This explains why many Eastern European Countries sided with the United States to help promote Freedom In Iraq. People living under tyranny feel hopeless and helpless-thus promoting resentment and hate. Tyranny and lawless environment are breeding grounds for evil. Leave them alone and they will spawn and attack. Going after the terrorist is a good first step. The obvious cure is to sow the seeds of Freedom. For freedom is the foundation for justice, honor and compassion. Once a society tastes freedom it becomes a very powerful drive. Freedom is stronger than any navy sailing the seas and any army marched over land. The drive for freedom is so powerful that people are willing to risk their lives to preserve it. The best arsenal civilized nations have to preserve democracy is the valor to promote it. This freedom is finding its way and growing to those who have been deprived so much and for so long in Iraq and Afghanistan. Your service will sow that seed which will grow and bear fruit. Your service and mission is absolutely vital and much more important than any occupation I can think of because without freedom this world would a very dark and scary place. Therefore, we are grateful and indebted to you the men and women now serving and sowing the seed of Freedom. Integrity and Freedom are not Occasional... God Bless You All and Return You Home Safe ....

First and foremost God Bless all of our troops and veterans everywhere, especially the old timers from back in the day. Since I was a little girl I was taught by my dad to thank the man who sold the little poppy flowers at the supermarket on Veterans Day! We should be teaching our children that these men and woman are to be thanked and to show them respect...even if it is just a thank you to someone in uniform. We want all of you home safe and soon! My little daughter and I pray for all the troops everywhere everynight!!! P.S. If our troops are not provided the proper equipment why aren't we on the ASSES of our elected officials!!!! I do believe the Senate and the Congress just received raises!!!

Comments: There is nothing a soldier fears more than being crippled or injured for life. Every nation knows that and all of them have produced propaganda leaflets showing injured soldiers at one time or another in an attempt to demoralize their enemies. I talked about this in an article entitled “Death and Disfigurement as a PSYOP Theme.” http://www.psywarrior.com/DDTheme.html I first met Nick Kester last year when he invited me to try on one of his protective vests. I was struck by his sincerity and invited him to take part in the 2006 Bellmore Town Fair. I worked with Nick for two days in September at this year at the Town Fair. He is an amazing guy, kind of wacky as only an ex-cop can be. He is an indefatigable worker who seems to live to collect funds to protect American troops. His wife was right there with him, and was as motivated as he was. What a duo! I want to publicly thank them for their patriotism and dedication to duty. They are a rare pair and a pleasure to know.
