Having lived in this tri community my entire life I was surprised recently to encounter two women stationed at a display outside of my frequent "the way home from work" stop.  There could be an appropriate word to express the feelings of those of us who have sons or dtrs or other relatives now in the military but I could not find one in my receding vocabulary. So a sincere thank you to all of you working so diligently and giving so freely of your time.  Your efforts are gratefully appreciated.

When I think back on 911 and watched two of my sons who were reservists at the time (one army  one navy) and they put aside their daily work to don their btu's and travel daily for weeks into Manhattan it brings tears to my eyes.   They would come home exhausted with the smell firmly entrenched in their bodies and their eyes (we will never forget).

Eventually they were both activated and the

Navy man served 8 months in Iraq having safely returned in October of 05.   The Army man arrived there in October of 05 and is currently at Camp Victory Iraq and his assignment is scheduled to end in December of 06.

Having a large family we pretty much keep him inundated with packages and mail but we do wonder about all of the other military throughout  the region  Iraq Afghanistan and other bases and support from home is the greatest gift of all so keep up the good work and if we can be of help   bring it on!

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that came down in support of the troops tonight at McBride's. The Fundraiser was a HUGE success and we wouldn't be able to continue doing what we do without all your support and donations. Thank you once again for spreading the name "onsight support" and for keeping our mission alive!!!

God bless our troops!!!

Come home soon

I just want to say thank you to our wonderful troops and the OnSite Support group. I met 3 wonderful ladies at the IGA in Copiague a few weeks ago and that's when I learned of the group. After doing my research I was astounded to find out all they do. The group will continue to have my support.

My brother is on his way (again) today back to Iraq, I pray all stay safe and I am comforted knowing there are people that genuinely care.

Dear Mr & Mrs Kester and OnSight Support.
Hey Folks, Hope this letter finds you all in good health.
My name is MA 2 Pete Perez ( master -at-arms) Navel Police Officer.  I have been the proud recipient of your care package sent out Jan 28.2006  I don't know if  I was the intended target of the package or not .  On the cover of the box it was addressed to me and inside the letter was to someone else.  I want you all to know that it did arrive in the heart of Iraq and we are all touched and very grateful for your support !
A lot of us are working long days and people move around so much that it is difficult for us to write back  sometimes.  So please don't feel bad that all of your letters not answered, but rest assure that they are getting out here and we are all great full.
Upon receiving your package with all the great stuff, I shared it all with other troops in the area. I also took some socks and candy to the base hospital and gave some to the wounded and some to the kids.  They were very happy to receive all the stuff and I was sure to tell them where it all came from!
I am in the US Navy and live in the Bronx, I am also a cop in the big city.  As for my handwriting you would probably think I was a Doctor (ha ha ha!) smile...Like everyone I am just tired a lot cause we haven't slept-ed  to good, we get mortar fire here a lot, We are lucky they can't hit the side of a barn.  Thank God for that!
But to the main point of my letter is to say THANK YOU,  Thank you and the good people of your town,  who made this gesture and sent their prayers, It's real funny how I live in a City of 8 million belong to one of the largest police Dept. in the nation, the site of the 911 disaster and the people from the small town are the most grateful. I would like to dedicate the rest of my tour out here to the people of Copiague NY and all who are involved with OnSight Support
GRATEFUL PATRIOT TO A GREAT FULL PATRIOTIC PEOPLE!
TILL WE SPEAK AGAIN ...
PRAISE THE LORD!
WAGING PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST !

I just recently arrived in Iraq and one of the soldiers who was leaving, SFC Johnson from the 3rd Infantry Division, gave me the website and told me of the great things your organization has sent him and his unit such as fresh Christmas trees and other items which help to make the time here better for all of his soldiers.  Thanks for your support and keep up the good work!  Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated during this time of hardship for many soldiers and their families.

Just wanted to drop a line to send all my gratitude and love to all you brave men and women overseas. You know it wasn't until I has children that I really felt the impact of war so dramatically. Now when I look at my children, I stop and give thanks to whichever power above that reigns, for all of you fighting to protect our country and our people. I can't imagine what all of you parents, family and children must be experiencing right now. But I can say with assurance how proud they must be. From the bottom of my heart thank you for protecting me and my family and the small things we do each day. God Bless and come home safe!

I would to thank everyone that was involved with sending the Christmas Trees over to Iraq for all of the Soldiers and Civilians stationed over her to enjoy.  I am currently in charge of running the Joint Military Mail Terminal at Baghdad International Airport, and the tree and decorations we received was set up in our breakroom, and it definately brought the joy of home to everyone.  I also would like to thank you for the care packages that you sent.  All of the Soldiers assigned to my unit were very greatful for your generosity.  Your efforts definately made this a memorable Christmas and I thank you for your support.  God Bless each of you!

Last night I received a call from my brother, Major Timothy Sullivan 101st Airborne Division, who is presently serving in Iraq. He wanted me to personally thank all those behind Onsight Support for the provisions that were sent to his unit. I want to send special thanks to Nick Kester for his attention and assistance in directing these things to my brothers unit. Tim says it was greatly appreciated along with all the thoughts, prayers and moral support behind it.

He further stated that, contra to what we may often hear in the media, that morale is very good and the troops are firmly behind this difficult task in the Middle East. Like all of you who are involved with Onsight Support we must continue to stand behind our troops and have as many Americans do the same.

This morning I, along with several other members of the PAPD, had the honor of attending the send-off ceremony for the 773rd Transport Co.  based at Ft. Totten Queens, they are now being deployed to Iraq. One of my other brothers, Thomas, is the Capt./CO of that unit. I think I can speak for those of us present that it was a very heartfelt and patriotic event to attend. These men and women along with their families will greatly appreciate the support of groups such as Onsight Support just as I know they appreciated our presence today. But remember; Groups are made up of individuals and each individual makes a difference....Keep up the Great work!!!!    Support Onsight!!!
